Hi to all: I have just moved from Manchester to Devon (Exeter Hospital) - have been referred by my GP to the rheumatology unit and wondered if anyone has any experience of the consultants - good or bad. I had a particularly good one in Manchester and hope to find someone equally helpful.
Many thanks in advanceSmile

Hi Anne,
I don't have any experience of the rheumy unit but just to say we have used their A and E twice in past years whilst on holiday in the area - both times were orthopaedic related reasons, kids mishaps! Firstly, rockpool misadventure ending in elbow dislocation and the other was after a misjudged dive into swimming pool - sprained ankle) Both times, all the staff we saw were friendly and efficient, waiting times were very minimal and the wards seemed clean and professionally run.
Hope you have very good experiences with your new rheumy department xx

Hi Anne

It's always an apprehensive time moving from a good consultant to someone you know nothing about. Well I have been under Exeter Rheumatology Unit for five years and have been highly impressed with the treatment and care I have been given. There is a wonderful hydrotherapy pool at Exeter, as well as an excellent team of consultants, rheumatology nurses and OT's.

I've also had numerous operations and all the specialists I have been under have been excellent, very understanding and helpful.

I feel very lucky to be under such a great supportive team.

All the very best.
Rebecca
